The Blaschek Scenic View Point in Bad Goisern at Lake Hallstatt is located above the “Höhenweg” on the “Ewige Wand” and invites you to take a relaxing break with a breathtaking view of the Goiserer valley.
The Blaschek Scenic View Point, which was rebuilt in June 1990, is located above the “Höhenweg” on the “Ewige Wand”. You can drive by car until the Rathlucken hut via the toll-free panoramic road and then easily reach it in about 30 to 45 minutes by walk. The popular destination will reward you with a wonderful view of the Goiserer valley.
The Scenic View Point owes its name to Leopold Blaschek, who came to Bad Goisern around 1897. Hired as forest supervisor, he was appointed to be a kk forester III. class by decree of the Gmunden forestry on 25.08.1903. He died at the age of 48 on August 18, 1915 and was buried in the catholic cemetery in Bad Goisern.
The hike to the Blaschek Scenic View Point begins at the parking lot of the Rathlucken hut. Here it goes along the 1.5 km long mountain and fairytale trail into the forest, where you past 7 stations where stories from the past of the Inner Salzkammergut and matching carved figures are waiting. At the end of the forest you reach the rocky outcrops of the “Ewige Wand”. Here the way goes, secured with wire rope railings, through the 2 tunnels to a first viewpoint. The ascent to the Blaschek Scenic View Point begins on the right hand side. Follow the signs and you reach the Scenic View Point after about 15 minutes.
From there you can hike further towards the Predigstuhl summit or take the path back over the Mountain and fairytale trail. Alternatively, go back to the first viewpoint and follow the signs towards Anzenau.
You can get to know interesting facts about the culture and history of Bad Goisern on the "Goiserer Geschichte(n)" theme trail. You will find more recommendations in our overview of all hiking trails in the Holiday Region Dachstein Salzkammergut.
