The Gothic parish church in Windhaag near Freistadt
The Windhaag parish church was built between 1487 and 1507.
Regardless of the construction of a church by the Starhemberg family, church services were organised from Grünbach. Windhaag has been its own parish since 1 November 1704. The church is dedicated to St Stephen.
The two-bay choir is spanned by a ribbed vault. Simple tracery can be found in the windows. The nave is a four-bay, three-aisled hall with round pillars. The tower has a neo-Gothic spire. The interior is also neo-Gothic and was designed by Josef Untersberger (1883-1886).
