The “Herrgott im Thal” Chapel stands on the left-hand side of the valley road as you head out of town, across from the old Lanner Mill. A spring known for its healing properties once flowed from this spot. According to legend, a statue of Christ was washed ashore during a flood and came to rest next to the spring. Following this “miracle,” the miller at the time had the chapel built, which was visited by many pilgrims, especially during the 17th and 18th centuries.
