Plague pandemics erupted and ravaged Upper Austria in the first half of the 18th century.
In the years 1711 and 1714 the plague hit Kirchberg. A plague hospital was installed in Sauldorf. The death were buried in Rödl. The plague column was erected in the year 1914 to commemorate the great plague of these years.5232 Kirchberg bei Mattighofen
