Count Joachim Enzmilner and his legacy

335 years ago, the then Count Joachim Enzmilner, owner of Windhaag Castle, . . .

. . . to use the weapons in the armoury there for possible defence. The associated equipping of a castle guard in 1662 is therefore regarded as the founding year of the resulting citizens' corps. 1785 saw the actual founding of a rifle corps, which celebrated its 100th anniversary on 3 August 1885.
