The Waxenberg castle complex with the striking lookout tower and the defense tower from the 12th century is the symbol of the town of the same Name.
It is one of the oldest castles in the Mühlviertel. The tower offers an overview of the surrounding Mühlviertel. Waxenberg Castle, built in the 16th century with its wonderful ambience, is the focus of cultural activities after the renovation by the local cultural association.
