The museum was founded in 1998 as part of the regional exhibition „Land der Hämmer" and offers insights into ancient crafts and trades such as wagoner, spade maker, scythe smith and the unique Jew's harp maker on 350 m² of exhibition space.
Exhibits of local poets, like Marlen Haushofer and Prof. Otto Jungmair, contemporary and historical documents, the scythe factory Gsadt and the shoe factory Dachstein show the distinctive influence of the past on the economic and cultural development of the village of Molln, now situated within the National Park.
