Glockengießerhaus (Bell-foundry)

Braunau am Inn, Oberösterreich, Österreich

The bell-foundry, which was found in the year 1385, has remained preserved in its original condition

This bell-foundry is the oldest and only one of its kind still existing in German-speaking countries. It was still running in 1896. The building that has accommodated the House of Local History since 1961, also houses extensive collections belonging to the regional club "Alt Braunau". Here, you will also discover the "Heimatstube der Donauschwaben", a museum dedicated to the Danube-Swabians and their settlements, life, culture, expulsion in 1944 and regaining of a home.

Its collection is definitely worth seeing.
