Club history:

1927 - The founding year of ATSV Bad Schallerbach

Already in 1927, sports enthusiasts from Schallerbach came together and laid the foundation for today's SV Sedda Bad Schallerbach.
Due to the political situation, the club was dissolved in 1937, interrupting club life for almost 10 years. Only in the post-war period did some sports friends come together again, breathing new life into ATSV Bad Schallerbach with simple means.

1946 - The year of re-establishment

At the founding meeting at Parzerwirt on October 6, 1946, sports life was breathed into the Workers' Gymnastics and Sports Club Bad Schallerbach - as SV Sedda Bad Schallerbach was previously known.

Under the first chairman Willi Pekartz, a lively sports club soon developed.

Meanwhile, more than 50 years have passed. From a handful of sports enthusiasts, the largest sports club in Bad Schallerbach has emerged, which among other things

  • has more than 450 members,
  • plays in the second longest-serving club (since 1996) in Upper Austria's highest football league - the Radio OÖ League,
  • sponsors 10 teams in football,
  • has over 180 active athletes competing in championships of the individual sections,
  • has been the organizer of the Trattnach River Run since 1986,
  • played in the State League B in chess for many years,
  • had a participant in biathlon, Franz Weber, at the 1976 Olympics,
  • produced cross-country skiers in the 60s, 70s, and 80s who ranked among the top in Austria, with member Rudi Kapeller finishing 2nd among nearly 14,000 skiers in the famous Vasa race - the largest cross-country skiing event in Scandinavia.

Since 1958 there has been a derby tradition - Bad Schallerbach : Grieskirchen

The derby Schallerbach : Grieskirchen has had a tradition since 1958. 36 derbies in various leagues have been played over 50 years. Since 1996, both teams have been playing in Upper Austria's highest league - the OÖ League.

1959 - The Kurparkschanze in the Bad Schallerbach spa park

1959 The "Kurparkschanze" was built with painstaking effort. A critical point at that time: 34 meters!!! Thousands of hours were spent by some active members on planning and construction. Particularly responsible for the construction were: Max Petermair, Richard Gamsjäger, Gerhard Thaller, and Siegfried Gamsjäger.

1960 - Team under coach WILLI PEKARTZ

The gymnastic team displayed its skills at the traditional Christmas gymnastics in the event hall of Hotel Post. While Hermann Grottenthaler led the boys as a demonstrator, the girls' team was supervised.

After 1960, the club management received the unfortunate news that they had to vacate the old sports field at the current ÖTB site, and a solution was eagerly sought.
