The Almsee is currently not completely frozen over. However, a layer of ice has already formed right next to the road, which has already been walked on and used for ice sports. Due to the snowfall last night, the layer of ice is now covered in snow. Please also note that it can be icy on the circular path around the Almsee and that the path is not a designated winter hiking trail and is not cleared or gritted. We also ask you to only use the designated parking area! There is a large (paid) parking lot at Gasthaus Seehaus, which is only a few minutes' walk away.

The Almsee is a splendor in itself in every season and attracts numerous visitors. In winter, the frozen lake proves to be a popular meeting place for ice shooters and ice skaters.
For those who prefer to feel solid ground under their feet, a winter hike on the lakeshore is more than recommended!
Please note that there is a daily charge of € 5,- for both car parks at the Almsee. Please only use the designated car parks!
Wild parking will be penalised by the landowner with an action for disturbance of property!
Entering the natural ice surface and hiking trails are always at your own risk!
