Lake Huckinger is located in the village of Hofstadt in a valley furrow north of the Filzmoos in the Upper Weilhart. The lake is not a moor in the strict sense, but it is a highly remarkable body of water. The shores are surrounded by a beautiful mixed deciduous-coniferous forest, which heavily shades the edge zone. Despite the shallow depth and the heat (up to 30 degrees!), the lake lacks higher aquatic plants; only the spring moss was still present in large quantities a few years ago.
