Alte Schule - Anton Bruckner Salon

The Old School houses the Bruckner17 exhibition and education room and the Bruckner Salon.

The new ABS "Anton Bruckner Salon" is a space for exchange between interested people, Bruckner researchers, visitors to Windhaag, guests from all over the world, film teams, etc.

At the age of 17, Bruckner was not that much older than the pupils and was sent to Windhaag in the Bohemian Forest as a trained school assistant, where he enjoyed previously unknown freedoms - but also had to fulfil and perform a wide range of tasks and services, which involved hardship.
An information room in the old school, which is only semi-public but completely open to the public, is a reminder of this. In other words, Bruckner's workplace in Windhagen, which, at the instigation of owner Irmgard Quass, is now a Bruckner learning and memorial centre in one and whose exhibition space was redesigned by Anton Bruckner 2024
