Visitor information centre on the European Green Belt

The Mühlviertel is located on the European Green Belt, the longest ecological network in the world. The border region, which divided Europe during the Cold War, offers touching life stories and a diverse culture as well as one thing above all: a unique natural landscape.
The newly built Green Belt Centre in Windhaag near Freistadt sees itself as a "gateway" to this natural and cultural-historical treasure. During a record-breaking renovation period of just one year, the Mühlviertel Forest House was transformed into a modern visitor information centre for the region.

The Green Belt Centre offers a total of 1000 square metres of space for exhibitions and information about the nature, history and future of the Green Belt. Visitors can familiarise themselves with the special features of the region before setting off on a voyage of discovery.

The Green Belt Centre is a barrier-free event venue.
The lounge and the event room of the Green Belt Centre are a room ensemble with a total area of approx. 300 m2.
The lounge is equipped with catering facilities including a fridge, sink, dishwasher, glasses, plates and cutlery for around 100 people. Tables and seating or bar tables can be set up on request. Up to 60 people can be seated at a laid table.

For events lasting less than three hours, the price is reduced by € 100.--
