The view of the longest castle in the world and the old town of Burghausen invites you to relax and enjoy a cosy get-together. Guests are treated to traditional Austrian specialities.

The light-flooded sun terrace offers a spectacular view of the historic centre of Burghausen, the Salzach river and the world's longest castle. In cooler temperatures, guests can sit in the newly renovated restaurant rooms. Here, too, there is a cosy atmosphere in which guests can choose between dishes from traditional Austrian cuisine, vegetarian dishes and seasonally changing offers from the weekly menu. The Waldgasthaus is situated in a quiet location, far away from stress and street noise - yet you will find everything your heart desires in the immediate vicinity. A 10-minute walk and you are in the historic centre of Burghausen. The ideal starting point for hikes and cycle tours - especially to the nearby lakes - Wöhrsee 2km - Holzöstersee 12km - Höllerersee 15km - Ibmer Heratingersee 16km.

Our beautiful region also has a lot to offer culturally - Burghausen and the castle - Marktl the birthplace of Pope Benedict - Altötting place of pilgrimage - the composer of the world-famous Christmas carol "Silent Night, Holy Night" Franz Xaver Gruber was also born in our village.
