voestalpine Stahlwelt incl. factory tour

After around two years of renovation, voestalpine Stahlwelt opened its redesigned exhibition area at the end of June 2026. It has been comprehensively modernized in terms of architecture, technology and content. Open spaces, new visual axes and digital presentations open up new perspectives on voestalpine.

Educational guided tours
The guides from voestalpine Stahlwelt accompany the pupils through the exhibition, alternating between a lecture and discovery of the individual exhibition levels using the multimedia extension on the tablet.

Exciting tour of the plant site
The steelworks at the Linz site is one of the most modern and innovative in the world. But instead of just talking about it, voestalpine is opening the factory gates: after visiting the exhibition in the voestalpine Stahlwelt, the factory tour takes visitors directly onto the factory premises.
Visitors experience central stations of steel production - from the blast furnace to Automotive Components - and gain a comprehensive insight into the entire production process from the ore to the finished car door.
The informative and impressive journey through Austria's largest industrial site takes place in specially equipped Stahlwelt buses. The tour is also accompanied by experienced guides who impart their knowledge directly on site.

Group size: from 15 to max. 53 people.

Duration for primary school classes: 2.5 hours
Group tours are offered from July 13, 2026 from Monday to Saturday between 09:00 and 16:00.
