The Bruckner Staircase is another attraction in the Old Cathedral of Linz, along with the historic Bruckner organ. This refers to the staircase leading to the organ, which Bruckner walked up and down several times a day during his tenure as cathedral and city parish organist. The Bruckner Staircase is a small museum or memorial where Bruckner's Linz years are presented and illustrated.
Special guided tours on the theme of Anton Bruckner and Linz, illustrated with audio examples and stories from Anton Bruckner's life, lead the way up to the famous Bruckner organ.
The tour of the Bruckner Staircase is only possible in guided groups (maximum 20 people). Specially trained Bruckner guides offer a visit to this small but beautiful Bruckner exhibition as part of their guided tours.
Guided tours are possible at the following times: Monday to Saturday: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last group at 4.30 p.m.) Sundays and public holidays: 12.30 p.m. to 5 p.m. (last group at 4.30 p.m.)
