This cycle tour really has a lot to offer: the sporting adventure and cultural and historic highlights make your holiday an unforgettable experience. Our tour takes you through parts of the Salzkammergut and the Mozart town Salzburg in seven days.

General information
The cycle tours don’t have any technical difficulties, there are only very few ascents! A reasonable fitness level is necessary to enjoy this trip as well as cycle equipment like sneakers, rucksack, sun- and rain protection, comfortable sports cloths, jacket, jumper aso. The routes are suited for trekking bikes - mostly they are asphalted cycle paths, a few stretches are gravel and forest paths. Should you want to spend a quiet day, you can cover most distances by public transport like bus, train or boat.

itinerary

1. day: Individual arrival in Bad Ischl.
You will receive your detailed travel documents at your accommodation.

Overnight stay in a **** hotel in Bad Ischl

2. day: Bad Ischl – Thalgau, ~47 km, altitude difference 535 m / 467 m
The cycle path starts in Bad Ischl, goes through Pfandl - Radau to St. Wolfgang - with the boat from St. Wolfgang to the Mozart village St.Gilgen - over the Scharfling and past the Krottensee and to Lake Mondsee. Continue on to Thalgau.

Overnight stay in Thalgau.

3. day: Thalgau– Seekirchen, ~48 km, altitude difference 438 m / 467 m
From Thalgau via Lake Mondsee to Lake Irrsee along the cycle path - the path takes you to the end of the lake in Oberhofen along the left shore - branch off to Neumarkt - around the Wallersee to Seekirchen.

4. day: Lake Wallersee – Seeham, ~23 km, altitude difference 157 m / 155 m
From Lake Wallersee past Kostendorf to Schleedorf - further to Lake Mattsee – Lake Obertrumersee / Mattsee circular tour – to Seeham.

Overnight stay at the Lake Obertrumer See.

5. day:  Seeham Hallein - Salzburg, ~70 km, altitude difference á 451 m / â 551 m
From Seeham past Nußdorf to Oberndorf - Quiet Night Chapel - along the river Salzach on the   Mozart cycle path to Salzburg and further along the river to Hallein. The historical city of salt- and celtic is definitely worth visiting. You cycle back to Salzburg along the river Salzach.

6. day: Hallein – Thalgau, ~41 km, altitude difference 535 m / 467 m
Along the left river bank to Salzburg - visit of the city - onward journey along the former railway Ischler Bahn line past Eugendorf and to Thalgau.

7. day: Thalgau – Bad Ischl, ~44 km, altitude difference 648 m / 701 m
From Thalgau - through the forest to St. Lorenz at Lake Mondsee - back to Lake Wolfgangsee over the Scharfling pass(short ascent on high-pass Scharflingpass) - lake side cycle path to Strobl - through Lindau back to Ischl

Twin-bedded rooms in Austrian resorts are normally one large base with two mattresses/duvets. These are also known as 'Austrian Twins' and are regarded as two beds. Separate twin beds are rare and cannot be guaranteed as available.

The parking place does not always situate next to the accommodation but on a public parking place. (Possible costs have to be paid on spot)
