Remembrance tour through the "invisible camp"

Gusen was a Nazi concentration camp, a subcamp of Mauthausen. Today, the former camp is largely covered with a housing estate.
Tour in German, English, Italian or Spanish.

Family houses now stand on the site of the former Gusen concentration camp. There are only a few remains of the camp. In the middle of the housing estate stands the concentration camp memorial with the still preserved cremation furnace. The guided tour takes us through the village of Gusen on the trail of the historical remains of the camp. We will not only deal with the history of the place, but also with the topic of commemorative culture. What do commemoration and remembering mean for us today? How do we want to deal with our past?

Daily except Monday in the period November to February. In winter, the Gusen concentration camp memorial is closed on Mondays.
