In his works, he immortalised Šumava in a very vivid way. You could say he was the first "decelerator of Šumava".

Hike to the places that he eloquently described in his numerous novels and captured in his paintings. Visit his birthplace in Oberplan/Horni Plana/CZ and the Adalbert Stifter Museum next to the church in Schwarzenberg.
