Day 1 - Individual arrival in Passau
Start your journey in Passau, where the Danube, Inn and Ilz rivers meet. Stay in style at the Hotel Residenz, a former merchant's house directly on the Danube.

Day 2 - From Passau to Aschach, approx. 50 km + boat trip
Your journey begins at a leisurely pace with a boat trip through the narrow, wooded Danube valley. In Kasten you change to your bike and cycle through one of the most beautiful landscapes in Upper Austria. The baroque Engelszell Abbey, which is also known for its Trappist liqueurs, is well worth a stop. The famous Schlögener Schlinge offers spectacular views of the Danube. Not far along the way, Vichtenstein Castle sits enthroned on a wooded rocky ridge high above the Danube. Situated high above the river is your domicile for today: the Hotel Faustschlössl, once built at the behest of the emperor - today a house full of stories, romance and Danube views.

Day 3 - From Aschach to Linz, approx. 30 km
You follow the course of the Danube on quiet paths to Linz. Passing the glittering bathing lakes of Feldkirchen, you reach the modern, creative provincial capital. Culture lovers can visit the Lentos Art Museum, the futuristic Ars Electronica Center or stroll through Linz's old town. A slice of Linzer Torte in a coffee house is a must.

Day 4 - From Linz to Bad Kreuzen, approx. 60 km
Your route takes you through the fertile Machland and the quiet alluvial forests of the Strudengau, once feared by Danube boatmen, today a peaceful natural paradise. Greinburg Castle, one of the oldest residential castles in Austria, rises majestically in Grein, the "golden jewel" of the Strudengau. Since the 19th century, it has been owned by the Saxe-Coburg and Gotha family, who have close family ties with the British royal family. In the evening, you will spend the night in one of the most extraordinary accommodations of the trip: the Schatz.Kammer in Kreuzen Castle - once a manor house, now stylishly restored with a breathtaking view over the Danube valley.

Day 5 - From Bad Kreuzen to Melk, approx. 50 km
The Danube meanders through granite rocks towards the magnificent entrance to the Wachau. In Melk, the baroque Melk Abbey welcomes you with its golden facades and magnificent ceiling frescoes. You spend the night right in the historic center in a traditional hotel with classic hospitality.

Day 6 - From Melk to Dürnstein, approx. 30 km
Today you cross the heart of the Wachau: past gentle vineyards, apricot gardens and the famous wine villages of Spitz and Weißenkirchen. Your destination is Dürnstein - a true pearl on the Danube. You spend the night in the noble Hotel Richard Löwenherz, located directly on the waterfront and within the historic walls of a former Poor Clares monastery. From your terrace you have a view of the Danube - and perhaps of the rock where Richard the Lionheart was once imprisoned.

Day 7 - From Dürnstein to Vienna, approx. 50 km + train ride
You say goodbye to the Wachau and cycle through the floodplains to Tulln, the town of the artist Egon Schiele. You then take the train to Vienna, where the Steigenberger Hotel Herrenhof will delight you with its imperial flair and modern comfort. The Hofburg Palace, Schönbrunn Palace and the elegant coffee houses are perfect for a stylish end to your trip.
