Day 1 - Individual arrival in Linz
Welcome to the Upper Austrian capital of culture! At the start of your cycling vacation along the Danube Cycle Path, check in at your hotel and receive your travel documents for the upcoming cycle tour. Take your first walks, for example a leisurely stroll through the old town or dinner with a view of the Danube. Linz welcomes you with a lively atmosphere and artistic flair.

Day 2 - Experience Linz by bike
Today you will discover Linz on two wheels - in a relaxed manner as part of your cycling vacation and with many cultural highlights: The Ars Electronica Center delights with interactive media art, while the Lentos Art Museum displays important works of classical modernism. As you cycle through the Mural Harbour, you will come across oversized murals in the old industrial port - an open-air museum of street art. History is not neglected either: the Old Cathedral with the Bruckner organ, Linz Castle or a ride up the Pöstlingberg with a view of the Danube. In the afternoon, enjoy a Linzer Torte in a traditional café - a sweet end to this multi-faceted cycle tour and your cycling vacation.

Day 3 - From Linz to Grein, approx. 60 km
Today you cycle eastwards along the Danube cycle path in Austria - past lush greenery and historic places. If you like, you can stop at the Mauthausen memorial - a moving place of remembrance. At the end of the stage, you reach the charming little town of Grein, where the magnificent Greinburg Castle and the oldest municipal theater in Austria bring history to life.

Day 4 - From Grein to Melk, approx. 50 km
A day full of nature and history awaits you on your cycling vacation: cycling through the once wildly flowing Strudengau - today a natural paradise with tranquil Danube floodplains and wooded slopes - you continue your cycle tour along the Danube Cycle Path in Austria and arrive in Melk. You will recognize the impressive Melk Abbey, one of the most important baroque ensembles in Europe, from afar. A visit to the magnificent library and the abbey church is a must for culture lovers.

Day 5 - From Melk to Krems, approx. 40 km
Today you cycle through the heart of the Wachau - a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the epitome of the Austrian way of life. Your cycle tour along the Danube cycle path takes you through a picture-book landscape with vineyards, old dry stone walls and medieval villages such as Weißenkirchen and Dürnstein. If you like, you can stop off for a little wine tasting or visit the ruins of Dürnstein Castle, where King Richard the Lionheart was once imprisoned. This section of your cycling vacation ends in Krems with a mix of old town flair, galleries and cozy cafés.

Day 6 - From Krems to Vienna, approx. 40 km (train ride from Krems to Tulln)
Continue comfortably by train to the garden city of Tulln - a relaxing stopover on your cycling vacation along the Danube Cycle Path in Austria. Day 7 - Experience Vienna - with an overview and favorite places
A whole day for the cultural metropolis on the Danube! Your cycling vacation along the Danube cycle path will also be an experience off the saddle. With the included 24-hour hop-on hop-off ticket, you can explore Vienna in comfort and at your own pace. Hop off where you want to go: to the imposing St. Stephen's Cathedral, through the imperial Hofburg Palace, to the baroque Belvedere Palace or to the multifaceted Museumsquartier. If you like, visit the Kunsthistorisches Museum or treat yourself to a stroll through the Naschmarkt while cycling through the city. In the afternoon, perhaps take a little break in a coffee house. Day 8 - Journey home or extension
