From 5 to 8 February 2026, the Kongress- & TheaterHaus Bad Ischl will once again be transformed into a stage for magic, elegance and amazement. The International Winter Variety Theatre Bad Ischl invites you to an unforgettable cultural event in the heart of the wintry Salzkammergut.

After four successful seasons, the Bad Ischl Tourist Board, the town of Bad Ischl and the Salzburg event agency ARS MEDIA are building on the great success of previous years with the anniversary show ‘Varietéträume - Eine artistische Weltreise’.

Look forward to a glittering gala that combines the best that modern variety theatre has to offer: fantastic juggling, breathtaking aerial acrobatics, impressive balancing skills, touching artistry and humorous comedy at the highest level. A 2 x 60-minute programme that takes the audience on a visual and emotional journey through fantastic worlds of images.

Top international acts meet innovative show concepts in a multimedia stage experience - a sensual vaudeville journey full of surprises, amazement and excitement.

Location: The Hotel Goldenes Schiff, which has been run as an inn since 1821, is situated in a prime location, directly next to the Traun River. The Location reminds of the salt transport, which played an essential role for Bad Ischl and the hotel Goldenes Schiff until 1877. Nearby you find the famous pastry shop Zauner, in a pedestrian zone. Restaurants and shops are only 50m away, the Eurothermen Resort Thermal Spa and the open air pool approx. 500m, the train station approx. 600m and the Imperial Villa approx. 850 meters. The “Katrin-Seilbahn” (cable car) is located at a distance of approx. 2.5km.

Facilities: The 3rd generation of the Gruber family welcomes you to the traditional hotel, which was renovated on a grand scale in 2021, with a spacious, modern lobby. Furthermore, the hotel features an à la carte restaurant with outdoor dining right next to the river Traun, free WLAN throughout the hotel, in-house E-bike rental (on extra charge) and an on-site parking lot (subject to availability, extra charge). Highchairs and cots are available on request.
