Bridgerton meets Bruckner

Linz, Oberösterreich, Österreich

Contratances of the 19th century

Anton Bruckner - famous organist and composer - used to play for dances in his youth and enjoyed dancing himself. A handwritten collection of folk dances in Windhaag near Freistadt is said to have been written by him. To get a feel for the 19th century, we not only listen to the music of the era, but also move to the beat of the time.

How did men and women interact? How did people converse? And above all: how did people dance at parties?
We get to the bottom of all these questions in a 90-minute course, supported by a pianist at the grand piano in the Green Salon of the Palais Kaufmännischer Verein, the perfect setting for travelling back in time.

Bookable for groups of 30 people.
