Glashausfantasie: Freundinnenderkunst

A glass house or greenhouse in its simplest form has accompanied freundinnenderkunst since 2020. The conventional plastic-aluminum object from the DIY store is rich in multi-layered symbolic power and thus opens up a wide range of topics for fantasy, hence the title GLASHAUSFANTASIE.

freundinnenderkunst have been working as an artists' collective in Linz since 1999, developing projects in the form of interventions and performances in multiple authorship. They stage themselves and together create new images of experiences made and critically reflected observations of the present.

The collective currently consists of Claudia Dworschak, Marion Klimmer, Helga Lohninger and Viktoria Schlögl, who were able to realize their eleventh Glashaus project, their 11th GLASHAUSFANTASIE, as artists in residence in Namibia in 2024.

The exhibition and spatial unfolding of the collective's series of works provides an insight into the work of the artists, their productions, interventions and performances in the form of photographic series, videos and installations.
