The Schaumbergalm is in Hengstpass area at 1,150 m above sea level!
The Schaumbergalm is one of the most beautiful alpine pastures in the Upper Austrian Alpine foothills. It is located in the middle of the Kalkalpen National Park between the Großtenberg (1,724 meters) and the Trämpl (1,424 meters), at an altitude of between 1,050 and 1,430 meters.
Hiking suggestion:
Bodinggraben - direction Steyrsteg via forest road (not marked!) - Schaumbergalm approx. 2 hours or Bodinggraben (Jägerhaus) - Ebenforstalm - Trämpl - Schaumbergalm approx. 3 - 3.5 hours.
No overnight accommodation!
Open from the beginning of June to the end of September.
Monday and Tuesday closed.
