Austrian restaurant with modern "inn" cuisine. Located at lake Traunsee in the centre of historic Traunkirchen. Meals served all the long with fresh catches from the lake and menue of the day. In the summer month with a large terrace.
Keeping pace with the times yet firmly rooted in tradition, the “Poststube 1327” presents itself as the new hotspot on Lake Traunsee.
The small village of Traunkirchen has always been a feast for the eyes, as well as a cultural center of the Salzkammergut—thanks in part to its history surrounding the Traunkirchen Monastery, once the mother parish of the region. It is here, in the original inn building, that the Gröller family opened the Poststube 1327—named after the year of its first documented mention as a tavern.
In the kitchen, the young and dedicated Stefan Griessler and his team are at work, while the culinary direction is overseen by the highly acclaimed “Bootshaus” chef, Lukas Nagl.
The Salzkammergut is present in every detail—red limestone and plenty of wood in the interior, traditional tavern music, fish from the lake, game, as well as delicacies from Mangalitsa pork or Alpine ox on the plate; draft beer served in stoneware mugs, homemade lemonades, naturally cloudy juices, along with fresh vegetables, eggs, and schnapps from local farmers.
