On the way through the alleyways of Freistadt's old town, you will experience the historic flair of the medieval brewing town and gain an insight into the eventful history of which the mighty fortifications with their towers and gates still bear witness today.

Cellars in Freistadt - a world of their own. A world that was very closed until recently. It opens up again and reveals rooms with huge vaults, mysterious corridors and enigmatic signs. (sturdy shoes!)

Tower tour

Freistädter Turmrunde: 7 towers and 2 gates are the focus of this tour - tower climbing included!

Beer spiking
Duration 60 minutes

In the Stadtschmiede, an iron rod - the beer spike - is heated to approx. 600 degrees and then slowly immersed in a cool beer (6-7 °C) for two to three seconds. The heat causes the sugar to caramelize and the foam to rise. This not only changes the temperature, but also creates an unmistakable taste experience.

A guided tour on the trail of the "Freistadt national drink". Beer has been brewed here for as long as Freistadt has existed. But it's not just the citizens who make the beer, the beer also makes the town. Evening tour of the old town
Duration 60 minutes
The classic city tour as a leisurely evening stroll - a free offer from the city of Freistadt. This offer is not valid for groups. No registration required. Meeting point is every Friday from May to September at 7.00 pm in the outer courtyard of the castle.

The guided tours are offered from January to December and from Monday to Sunday.
