At the Weisses Rössl on Lake Wolfgangsee, you can not only experience and discover a good piece of Austria. On Poll's Kaiserterrasse and in the lakeside restaurant, head chef Hermann Poll focuses on high-quality, regional ingredients and interprets traditional Austrian cuisine in a fresh and creative way. There is also a crossover of patisserie and classic main courses.
You can never go wrong with a glass of champagne as an aperitif. And while you watch the ducks glide by on Lake Wolfgang, you can savour curd cheese with peppery caramel and early turnips, crayfish foam soup with lemon verbena or braised veal cheeks with chives. The medium-rare pigeon with quinoa and pearl onions is a true delight. Nor does the char disappoint. The fresh fish has a nice crust when it is brought to the table, perhaps having stayed in the pan a touch too long. The sweet combination of rhubarb, lime and elderberry provides a delicious finale. With its focus on Austrian producers, the extensive wine list is worthy of attention and makes an exciting read – as well as being fairly priced.off-season: until 15.04.2025
