Upper Austria State Garden Show

A walk through blooming meadows in the middle of the city, the sound of the Traun in your ear, fragrant roses in the Volksgarten and people growing new things together: this is what Upper Austria's future feels like - at the 2027 State Garden Show in Wels.

From April to September 2027, the trade fair city will show how the city and nature can come together - in a bold, surprising and climate-friendly way. Under the motto "City of Gardens", Wels will become a showcase for green urban development, living sustainability and creative open spaces for all generations.

Six garden spaces, one goal: more quality of life for people and nature. New paths and perspectives are being created on an area of around 22 hectares - from the redesigned Volksgarten and the Traun riverbank to urban green islands that combine socialising and recreation.

Particularly impressive:
The project is considered one of the largest unsealing projects in Upper Austria - a powerful symbol of change, courage and creative joy.
