Ecolabel, Green Hood & Co

Upper Austrian partners for sustainable events

Conferences and celebrations that are as environmentally friendly and green as possible - in times of the climate crisis, many organisations are reflecting on their own events and want to make their contribution to environmental protection.

There are many event locations and seminar hotels in Upper Austria that are committed to this topic and make environmentally friendly measures transparent to their customers thanks to official awards and quality seals - such as the Austrian Ecolabel, the Austrian Award for Green Meetings & Events or the Green Toque. When choosing a location, the organiser can thus consciously set an example for sustainability and environmental protection and convey these values to the customer. This in turn contributes to the image of a company.

Upper Austria goes Green

Green meetings are 'enablers' for sustainable nutrition, energy efficiency, environmentally friendly travel and an event visit without leaving mountains of rubbish behind. In Austria, it is possible to have events certified with the "Austrian Ecolabel for Green Meetings & Events". In addition, companies from the event industry can acquire a licence and certify suitable events or meetings as green.

In Upper Austria, there are currently 4 companies or tourism associations that hold the Austrian Ecolabel for Green Meetings and Events (UZ62) and are authorised to certify, 3 of which are Convention Bureau partners:

Austrian Ecolabel

Quality and environmental friendliness are prerequisites for being awarded the Austrian Ecolabel in tourism. The measures range from the resource-conserving use of energy and water to regional and seasonal food and environmentally friendly travel. Hotels, locations, tour operators, caterers, restaurants, campsites and mountain huts are honoured.

A total of 20 Upper Austrian hotels, tour operators and venues have been awarded the Austrian Ecolabel, including the seminar organisations and Convention Bureau partners listed opposite.

Green Toque

The Green Toque stands for wholesome vegetarian enjoyment at the highest level in certified organic quality - also with fish or meat on request. It is awarded to hotels and restaurants throughout Austria. The philosophy of the Green Toque is made tangible through regular training on the subject of natural cuisine and thanks to the identification of each individual employee.

One Convention Bureau partner in Upper Austria has currently been awarded the Green Toque - Villa Seilern Vital Resort in Bad Ischl.
