On the Rathsteig in Bad Goisern at Lake Hallstatt a head for heights and surefootedness are a must.

Alpine hiking trail with rope

The trail starts at the parking lot Predigstuhl. The trail begins on the forest road behind the hotel. After a few hundred meters, the trail goes up very steeply on the right through the forest. After a short time, the first steps or steel cables also begin. Continue on a forest road over a forest path until you reach an embrasure. Some steel cables guide you directly below the summit of the Predigstuhl.

A hiking trail then brings you back down to a forest road on the back side of the summit.

The trail also serves as a feeder to various via ferrata routes.

In case of emergency call the mountain rescue on 140!
