Mountaineering villages in Upper Austria

A total of 27 places in Germany, Austria, Italy and Slovenia belong to the group of mountaineering villages. In these places, locals and guests alike attach great importance to the mountain world and mountaineering, and living in harmony with nature is a high priority. The Mountaineering Villages Association is based on the initiative of the Alpine associations of the above-mentioned countries and is a project for gentle Alpine tourism.

In Upper Austria, we are very proud to be able to count two places in our province among the selected circle of mountaineering villages: Grünau im Almtal and Steinbach am Attersee.
