Description:

The guesthouse Donautal can be found in the small village of Kasten, nestled between Engelhartszell and Passau on the right bank of the Danube.

The bus stop "Kasten/Donau Hütt." is only a one-minute walk from the accommodation.

If you arrive by the crystal ship, the disembarkation point is Kasten.

Ideal as a starting point for bike tours along the Danube Cycle Path or for hikes on the Danube Trail.

Bed and breakfast with heart and competence for hikers and cyclists. Member of Donausteig businesses for gastronomy “Donausteigwirte” and bett+bike.

18 km away from Passau and 70 km away from Linz.

You find us in a quiet location (no street noise) approx. 150 m close to the Danube, Danube Cycle Path or the round tour “Fuchsenloch” which leads you straight to the Donausteig hiking trail and to Vichtenstein.
Next to cycling and hiking, excursions to Passau, Schärding, Ried, Engelhartszell and the tree-top path “Baumkronenweg Kopfing” and IKUNA are possible.
 
Our 9 rooms feature a small seating area, SAT-TV, free Wi-Fi, shower/WC and 4 of those rooms a balcony.
The garden area with a seating area and hammock offers peace and relaxation.
 
Use our communal kitchen in the inn “Gästehaus Donautal”, relax in the garden and terrace or rent bicycles.
Your bicycles are safely stored in the garage and wet clothing can dry in our drying room.

Besides my work with the guests, my hobbies are HIKING and MAKING MUSIC. I also spend a lot of time in the garden, which always needs to be maintained.
Upon retiring, I fulfilled my long-standing wish to learn a musical instrument. Whenever my limited free time allows, I play the hammered dulcimer, often alone, but also in an ensemble with four zithers.
