Day 1 - Individual arrival in Passau
Your cycling tour along the Danube Cycle Path begins in the picturesque “City of Three Rivers” – Passau. Check-in at your hotel and receive your travel documents for the bike tour. If you've booked rental bikes, you'll pick them up at our bike station.

Day 2 - From Passau to the Schlögener Schlinge, approx. 40 km
Begin your cycling journey through Austria along the Danube! The route takes you through the wildly romantic Upper Danube Valley to the famous Schlögener Schlinge, where the river winds its way spectacularly around mighty granite rock formations.

Day 3 - From the Schlögener Schlinge to Linz, approx. 55 km
Your cycling journey begins today at the Schlögener Schlinge. Enjoy the vast expanse of the Eferding Basin before reaching the vibrant city of Linz – Austria's third-largest city. The Danube Cycle Path leads you straight into the city on well-developed routes. Discover the cultural diversity of this modern Danube city.

Day 4 - From Linz to Grein/surroundings, approx. 60 km
This stage of your cycling tour takes you near the historic town of Enns through idyllic floodplain landscapes in the Machland region, and on to the charming little town of Grein on the Danube. Once in Grein, you'll experience baroque joie de vivre and a rich history.

Day 5 - From Grein/surroundings to Melk/surroundings, approx. 50 km
Enjoy your bike tour through the impressive landscapes of the Strudengau and Nibelungengau regions all the way to the Wachau – one of Austria's most famous cultural landscapes (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). At the end of the day, treat yourself to a glass of local Wachau wine – that's what holiday in Austria tastes like!

Day 6 - From Melk/surroundings to Krems/surroundings, approx. 40 km
You'll cycle through the idyllic Wachau region, passing famous wine villages such as Spitz, Weißenkirchen, Dürnstein, and Krems. This area offers one highlight after another – from historic towns to picturesque vineyards. Tip: Take a break and enjoy a traditional Austrian Jause (snack) at one of the cozy Heurigen taverns right by the Danube.

Day 7 - From Krems/surroundings to Vienna, approx. 45 km
The final active day of your cycling journey through Austria begins with a ride along the Danube to the garden city of Tulln. This stage of the Danube Cycle Path is perfect for taking in the landscape one last time. From Tulln, take the train. Those who prefer a more sporty option can also cycle the entire route (+20 km). to Austria's capital, Vienna. Vienna – the crowning finale of your cycling holiday – awaits with cultural highlights such as the Hofburg Palace, Schönbrunn Palace, the Prater, the Ringstrasse, and its famous coffeehouses, where a Melange invites you to linger.

Day 8 - Return journey to Passau or additional nights
Today your comfortable cycle tour ends. The return journey to Passau is by train (without bicycle transfer) in season A and B, and by bus (incl. bike transport) or also by train in season C. If you want to extend the trip, you are welcome to book additional nights in Vienna or along the route - there is hardly a more stylish way to end your holiday.
