Strauss – lost in digital space

It is the 200th birthday of Johann Strauss, the King of Waltz, and he receives a mysterious gift: a box from which a glowing portal appears when he opens it. Before he knows it, Strauss is drawn into a digital world - a music game app, to be precise. This modern world is completely alien to him. No one in the app recognises him as the famous composer who enchanted the world with his waltzes. In order to return to his time and to the stage, Strauss must prove his identity. To do so, he must master various musical challenges, for which he needs the help of the young concert audience. An interactive musical performance to playfully discover Johann Strauss, his music and its timeless relevance. A commissioned work for the Vienna Musikverein brought together the actress and director Chris Pichler, who wowed the audience with her sparkling performance of her own libretto, and the cellist Ana Topalovic, whose passionate playing impressed the audience, for the first time. Since then, the two artists have been creating versatile, amusing, authentic and highly skilled concert performances together.
