Bad Ischl Brass Band’s Imperial Party

15.08.2026 / 12:30- 22:00
Bad Ischl, Kurpark
Musikveranstaltung, Vergnügungsveranstaltung, Sonstige Musikveranstaltung, Stadt-, Orts-, Vereinsfest

Every year on 15 August, the "Kaiserfest" takes place to commemorate the traditional birthday celebrations during the emperor's lifetime. This festival has become a fixture in Ischl's calendar of events.

PLEASE NOTE: The event only takes place in good weather

.

The Bad Ischl Citizens' Band was founded in 1870 and began participating in the annual festivities on the eve of the Emperor's birthday as early as 1871. As can be seen in the band’s chronicle, the band played on a boat on the Traun River, in front of the fountain at what is now Schröpferplatz, or in the pavilion on the Esplanade. When the Citizens’ Band was asked in 1982 to organize a festival, they became aware of this tradition, and so to this day, the Emperor’s Festival is organized annually by the Citizens’ Band on August 15.
