The Duke of Windsor found his "splendid isolation" here back in 1937. And this tranquillity can still be found here today. As soon as you drive through the spacious park with its centuries-old trees and the crystal-clear, turquoise-blue lake in the background, you are immersed in a feeling of something special, of retreat and security and, yes, somehow in another time.

A few steps lead up to the stylish, cozy ambience of the country house, where you immediately feel comfortable and somehow at home. The house has 22 rooms and suites - each unique in its own way - with all the contemporary amenities of a hotel of this class, atmospheric lounges with historic tiled stoves, a piano salon and the excellent restaurant.

Many of the rooms and suites offer a magnificent view of Lake Wolfgangsee, others of the lovingly tended park. No two rooms are the same, but in all of them you can feel the special homely atmosphere and subtle luxury. You can be here - you want to stay here. In your own personal favorite room.

In the excellent restaurant or, depending on the weather, on the spacious terrace, you can enjoy the breathtaking view over the lake and the delicacies of chef Thomas Höfler and his team, both as a hotel guest and as a day guest. With the utmost respect for the products of the region, he creates unique flavors and emotions - for breakfast, lunch or an elegant dinner.

Built in 1912, the Landhaus zu Appesbach has 22 classically furnished rooms and suites with luxurious interiors. All rooms are equipped with free Wi-Fi, satellite TV, a bathroom and a wellness bag to relax in. Most rooms have a lake view and balcony.

Coming from Munich/Salzburg Highway - stay on the A1 direction Vienna until exit Thalgau.
Exit at Thalgau and drive on to the B 158. Go east and pass Hof and Fuschl to St. Gilgen.
Further along the Lake "Wolfgangsee" to Strobl (our neighbour village).
Exit at Strobl direction St. Wolfgang.

Coming from Vienna we suggest to take the exit Mondsee on the A1 and drive to direction St. Gilgen, from there you follow to Strobl and exit there to St. Wolfgang.

Past the exit Strobl follow the signs to St. Wolfgang - to the Appesbach from this exit it is 4,5 km.
You find us lefthandside in a lakeside park 100 meters after the big camping place.
