The Johannesweg, shaped like a lily (the symbol of light), winds its way for about 84 kilometers through the beautiful rolling hills of the Mühlviertler Alm region. Along the way, you’ll encounter ancient traditions, touching stories, and places of great spiritual power.
After arriving in Mönchdorf, we’ll take you to the starting point of the Johannesweg trail in Pierbach. You can park your car for free in our parking lot for the duration of your stay.
You’ll then hike to St. Leonhard b. Fr., where you’ll be picked up in the evening. Dinner will be served at Gasthof Rameder, and your room will already be waiting for you!
Stage 2: St. Leonhard–Kaltenberg (approx. 24 km)
The next morning, you’ll be taken back to St. Leonhard and will hike from there to Kaltenberg. After an eventful day of hiking, we’ll pick you up in Kaltenberg. After a hearty dinner, you’ll spend the night with us at the inn.
Stage 3: Kaltenberg – Pierbach (approx. 30 km)
You’ll start the third stage in Kaltenberg and hike past the beautifully restored Ruttenstein Castle ruins to Pierbach, from where we’ll take you back to Mönchdorf.
