Sebaldusweg with culinary stopovers
===================================

The Sebaldusweg pilgrimage trail leads across the hills and heights of the Ennstal National Park region in south-eastern Upper Austria. As a "path of appreciation", it encourages pausing and reflection. Four days, 85 kilometres of trail and 3,000 metres of altitude gain. Along the way, hikers encounter seven churches, three pilgrimage churches and 30 chapels - as places of contemplation and reflection. Along the route, inns, producers and first-class restaurants invite you to take refreshment.

The starting point of the [Sebaldus Trail](https://www.steyr-nationalpark.at/en/activities/summer/hiking/pilgrimage-long-distance-trails/oesterreich-tour/detail/430007229/sebaldusweg-4-day-stages.html) is Großraming in the Upper Austrian Enns Valley. Via Losenstein with its impressive castle ruins, the first day is 22 kilometres long to Laussa. The second day's stage leads to the pilgrimage site of Maria Neustift. The third stage destination is Gaflenz. The last section back to the starting point holds the highlight of the hike - the pilgrimage church of St. Sebald am Heiligenstein, which is dedicated to the patron saint of the trail.
