Gallspach

The relaxing climatic spa! Located in the green heart of Upper Austria, Gallspach has long been established as a holiday and spa resort.
Gallspach lies nestled in countryside that is much acclaimed by poets. The untouched landscape in the midst of the Vitalwelt provides an ideal area for hiking. While taking a leisurely stroll or a long hike along the 40 kilometres of signposted hiking trails, you will come across many country inns where you can make an enjoyable stop. Or you could also discover the countryside between the Danube and the Salzkammergut by bike on the new cycle path network.

A varied cultural programme is offered throughout the year. As well as the lovingly maintained spa gardens, the nature park with its aviaries and lake biotopes invites you to linger in summer or play a game of curling in the winter. A romantic ride in a horse-drawn carriage also provides a beautiful holiday memory. For recreational activities you can choose from first-class tennis courts and the attractive water park with diving platform, rope jungle, sand and water playground, climbing wall, playing field for ball games and two beach volleyball courts.

Outstanding architecture

The Zeileis health care centre with its unique high frequency therapy provides an outpatient clinic for physical therapies and rehabilitation. The institute now offers all forms of physical medicine: prevention and healing with the positive energy from electricity, heat, movement and water.

The Roman Catholic parish church in Gallspach was reconsecrated in 2005 and is a combination of new and old. The team of architects, who were awarded the architecture prize, succeeded in connecting the new modern chapel with the old church including the tower in a circular construction. Particularly worth seeing are the overlaid stations of the cross by the local artist Erwin Burgstaller that lead around the church, and the gravestones of the ruling nobilities Geymann and Hoheneck.
