Obertraun, Oberösterreich, Österreich
  • All weather

The local authority of Obertraun supervises a area of 89.3 km ².
Emergency Number: 140

Area of operation of Obertraun's mountain rescue team

Our area of operation extends east to the Styrian Federal land border (Bad Aussee - Bad Mitterndorf - Groebming) and south to Ramsau - Schladming. In the west it extends to Hallstatt, and to the north it borders on Bad Goisern at Lake Hallstatt.

The annual program of the local office is very diverse! Numerous exercises, tours and outreaches accompany us throughout the year.
After the winter season, the local mountain rescue service sets up the maypole in Obertraun every year.
In the summer, the maypole is auctioned at a small festival on the town square - Maypole Auction
Every two years the mountain rescuers organize a big flea market in the Traunauen marquee.
The proceeds and donations are used to buy rescue equipment and to train the mountain rescuers.

The mountain rescue Obertraun annually sets up the maypole and is organizer of the Maypole Auction. All mountain rescuers are looking forward to your visit and any support.
For the purchase of rescue equipment a flea market is organized every 2 years in Obertraun.
