The Bohemian Forest is gentle and wild!

The Bohemian Forest on both sides of the border offers charming and unforgettable nature experiences. It is one of the oldest mountains in Central Europe.
300 million years ago, the mountains in the area were as high as the Alps. Over millions of years, they have lost height and taken on gentler forms. This is how the beautiful hilly landscape of the region in the border triangle of Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic was created. The last large forest area in Central Europe with two national parks has retained a pristine charm that has long since disappeared elsewhere. The Bohemian Forest holiday region in the north of the Mühlviertel is an insider tip for nature lovers and those seeking relaxation - and a home to its very own traditions. The people here are aware of the healing effects nature can have on us and are happy to pass on their knowledge.
Idyllic, energetic and powerful places, the valleys of the Große, Kleine and Steinerne Mühl rivers and pretty villages alternating with pastures and farmland complete the landscape of the Šumava region.

"On diverse paths to strong places" is the name of the new offer in the Šumava holiday region. On the Trail of Deceleration, a unique circular trail (165 km) to the places of strength and energy in the region, guests can find peace and recharge their batteries.
