The romantic town of Steyr, idyllically situated at the confluence of the Enns and Steyr rivers, is a true architectural gem and a livable and lovable small town between Salzburg and Vienna. The historical town square is harmoniously lined with townhouses from various architectural periods. View of the charming Enge Gasse and the impressive Lamberg Castle.

The **City Square of Steyr** forms the historical and cultural center of the city of Steyr and is among the most beautiful and best-preserved city squares in Austria. It originated in the Middle Ages and is surrounded by magnificent bourgeois houses from the Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, and Rococo styles. Its characteristic triangular shape gives it a unique cityscape.

Some of the most famous buildings at the city square include the **Bummerlhaus**, which is considered a landmark of Steyr, as well as the **Town Hall** with its distinctive Rococo tower. Around the square, there are numerous cafés, restaurants, and shops, making the city square a popular meeting place for locals and visitors alike.

Regular **weekly markets**, events, and festivals take place at the city square. The weekly market is held every **Thursday and Saturday** and offers regional foods as well as various specialties.

The city square is also an ideal starting point to explore the historic old town, the Narrow Alley, the confluence of the Enns and Steyr rivers, and other attractions of the city.
