It’s a very special moment, because in **Obertraun** **,** St. Nicholas arrives across the lake in a **“Fuhre**, **”** a **[traditional wooden boat](https://dachstein.salzkammergut.at/oesterreich-poi/detail/430014979/navia-zillen-schifffahrt-am-hallstaettersee.html).** He is **accompanied** by Knecht Ruprecht, who **carries** a large sack **filled with** **apples**, **nuts, and** **chocolate** , and **by** the **Obertraun brass band** . The gentle lapping of the lake builds the children’s excitement and anticipation until, finally, the “Fuhr” carrying St. Nicholas slowly emerges from the darkness of the night and reaches the shore of the lake. With sparkling eyes, the children recite a poem for St. Nicholas. He rewards them with gifts, and then he and his “Fuhr” disappear once more into the waters of Lake Hallstatt. To pass the time, the **flute students from the music school** and some **young musicians from Obertraun** play on the shore. To warm up and refuel, there’s a **punch and cookie stand**. This year, there’s once again the chance to visit a small but charming **Christmas market starting at 2:30 p.m.**! **St. Nicholas is coming when it gets dark! Krampus stays home on this day**. **[Experience a 360° panoramic tour of Obertraun…](http://www.dachstein-panorama.at/?s=pano68577&utm_source=tourdata&utm_medium=textlink&utm_campaign=tourdata360tour)** [ Contact ](#ttgCollapseKontakt) ---------------------------------- **Kinderfreunde Ortsgruppe Obertraun** Obertraun , 4831 Obertraun mobile+43 680 1568322 E-Mail[haus.haider@gmail.com](#mailto) --- **Legal contact information** Kinderfreunde Obertraun Obfrau Petra Haider Obertraun AT-4831 Obertraun haus.haider@gmail.com --- **We speak the following languages** German English [ Event location ](#ttgCollapseVeranstaltungsorte) ---------------------------------------------------- **Outdoor bathing area Lido** Strandbad Obertraun, Obertraun 169, 4831 Obertraun Phone [+43 6131 342](tel:+436131342) E-Mail Web [ Arrival ](#ttgCollapseAnreise) ---------------------------------- [ Prices ](#ttgCollapsePreise) -------------------------------- - Free entry [ Suitability ](#ttgCollapseEignung) -------------------------------------- - Suitable for groups - Suitable for kids (0 - 14 Year) - Suitable for kids (all ages) - Suitable for pushchairs - Suitable for teenagers - Suitable for seniors - Suitable for single travelers - Suitable for families - Suitable for friends - Suitable for couples - Suitable for children [ Accessibility ](#ttgCollapseBarrierefreiheit) ------------------------------------------------- Please get in touch for more information. powered by [TOURDATA](https://www.tourdata.at "New window") [ ![TOURDATA Logo](https://www.upperaustria.com/fileadmin/templates/global/images/Logo-Tourdata.png "TOURDATA Logo") ](https://www.tourdata.at "New window")
