While his mother dreams of a career but is relegated to making coffee, his unemployed father eyes the overly helpful neighbor with suspicion, and his older brother secretly deals in mixtapes, Vincent experiences the bittersweet torments of first love. Meanwhile, his best friends are doing everything they can to sneak an R-rated movie out of the video store. Amid the turmoil of constant family conflicts and the emotional storms of puberty, Vincent grapples with life’s big questions and comes to realize: Even adults don’t have all the answers. Amid Walkmans, neon colors, and shoulder pads, the successful duo behind \*Quasi Friends\*—Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache—deliver a tribute to the magical ’80s of their youth that is as humorous as it is heartwarming. Featuring a star-studded cast including Camille Cottin, Louis Garrel, Pierre Lottin, and newcomer Simon Boublil, \*NUR GETRÄUMT\* is a feel-good highlight brimming with nostalgia and unforgettable hits. \*Just a Dream\* will celebrate its German premiere at this year’s Filmfest Hamburg, where the filmmakers from France will personally present their touching ’80s comedy to the audience. The acclaimed directing duo once again demonstrates their talent for blending profound emotions and important social issues with subtle humor. Inspired by the directors’ own memories, \*NUR GETRÄUMT\* is a humorous declaration of love for the special time of youth and the spirit of the ’80s. Featuring many hit songs and a fantastic ensemble cast led by Camille Cottin, Louis Garrel, and Pierre Lottin, this heartwarming family story invites you to laugh, dream, and rediscover your inner teenager. In France, the film has already captivated an audience of over a million.
