While narrator Maren Ulrich reads excerpts from various prose works by Heine, baritone Konstantin Krimmel lends his voice to selected Heine songs. As a member of the Bavarian State Opera ensemble, he recently enjoyed tremendous success—and not just as Don Giovanni. His lyrical, agile, yet equally rich and colorful baritone voice makes him the ideal lieder singer, captivating the audience with the highest technical brilliance and a nuanced interpretation of the text. He is accompanied with great synergy by the Israeli-South African pianist Ammiel Bushakevitz at the piano.
