Music & Literature: The last days of humanity: Karl Kraus' unplayable play The last days of humanity as a musical reading with piano and vocals
For baritone Georg Nigl, the art song should always negotiate the contradictions and danger zones of our time. Together with Nicholas Ofczarek - actor at the Burgtheater - and pianist Markus Hinterhäuser, he embarks on the adventure of Karl Kraus' texts in *Die letzten Tage der Menschlichkeit?*, which he juxtaposes with songs by composers Gustav Mahler and Hanns Eisler. The result is an artistic event that will not be forgotten: *Die letzten Tage der Menschlichkeit?* is not a concert in the classical sense, but a passionate, poetic and deeply moving examination of war, hope and dignity.
