Tradition and customs meet contemporary artistic expression in the diverse formats of folk culture. In the interplay between folk culture and contemporary art, regional identity is not only preserved but actively developed. New forms of presentation emerge from local traditions, combining historical roots with current social issues. Folk culture is understood as a living process that is mutually expanded by contemporary artistic interventions. A central focal point is the exhibition at the Schlossmuseum Linz, which understands history as an ongoing process up to the present day. The focus is less on historical battles than on their narratives and interpretations. Documents, artifacts and works of art show how each era (has) reinterpreted the Peasants' War.
