After all reinforcements were withdrawn to contain wildfires and communications completely broke down, Bum-seok, the chief of the Hope police station, and police officer Sung-ae struggle to protect a village full of elderly people. Meanwhile, Sung-ki and others from the village set out into the surrounding mountains to track down a mysterious beast—but soon they themselves become the prey. What begins as ignorance sets off a catastrophe that, through human conflict, escalates into a tragedy of cosmic proportions.
