Regional vendors, traditional crafts, musical performances, and culinary delights make the first weekend of Advent a special experience for the whole family. This year, the popular Advent market will be expanded to include additional event spaces in the new Open Science Center.** When the Cumberland Wildpark Grünau transforms into an atmospheric Advent landscape at the end of November, a very special time of year begins for many visitors. “Advent at the Wildlife Park” combines the pre-Christmas atmosphere with regional crafts, music, and culinary traditions—all set against the unique natural landscape of the Almtal valley. **More Space for Regional Handicrafts** Handicrafts and regional products are once again the focus of this year’s Advent market. The numerous exhibitors will showcase their handmade creations and creative gift ideas. The offerings range from artistic woodturning and bags to pottery and feltwork, as well as regional specialties such as schnapps and cookies. The market thus offers a wonderful opportunity to discover special Christmas gifts while supporting local producers. There’s a new addition to the event space: thanks to the extra rooms in **the** new **Open Science Center**, more exhibitors can participate in this year’s Advent Market. Traditional crafts will also be on display again, as a blacksmith works at his forge and offers his works of art for sale. **Music, Lights, and the Scent of Christmas** Musical performances and lights will create the perfect Advent atmosphere. On Saturday, the **Grünau Music Association’s Youth Orchestra** and the **“Gerstl Musi” from Scharnstein** will get everyone in the Christmas spirit. On Sunday, a **brass quartet from the Grünau Music Association** will fill the air with **Christmas** melodies. Stands selling roasted chestnuts, punch, and mulled cider invite visitors to warm up and linger. Culinary highlights on Sunday, in particular, center around the **traditional “Bratwürstlsonntag”**(grilled sausage **Sunday**), which has long been a part of the Christmas preparations in Upper Austria. A stroll through the wildlife park is also a must this weekend. In addition to visiting the Advent market, guests can enjoy the animals and the wintry natural landscape. Especially in the evening hours, the wildlife park creates a unique atmosphere with its illuminated paths, lanterns, and open fire pits.
